Kalamazoo Bridge Center
Player Services Programs

The game of Bridge, while competitive and challenging is really a lot of fun. It can also be a little intimidating, confusing and frustrating. To make things easier for our newer players we offer a number of programs that will help them become better acquainted, and provide opportunities for them to improve their bridge skills.

To help ease new players into the world of Duplicate Bridge we run two non-life master games each week. On Wednesday Evening at 7:00 PM and Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM. These games are restricted to only those players that are below the rank of Life Master. Prior to each of these games there is a half hour bridge discussion, in which we review the merits of various bridge conventions, defensive techniques, declarer play and the rules of Duplicate Bridge. Handouts are generally available to all those attending the pre-game discussion group.

We encourage players to develop their own partnerships, but we realize that this may be difficult, especially for new players, and players that are new to the area. To help new players find partners we have put in place the Adopt a Newcomer program. This program helps match up new people with a series of partners to help them become better acquainted.

We offer a variety of programs for those players that want to improve their bridge skills. We have classes for both beginning and intermediate players, a reference library and a mentoring program.

All of the clubs at the Kalamazoo Bridge Center adhere to the principles outlined in the ACBL Zero Tolerance Policy. If you want more informataion about any of these programs, click on the links below:
